XEROXLORE - GGRAINER

RELEASE: 12/29/2023‘xeroxlore’ is a three song EP by ggrainer, recorded only using a computer (and an answering machine). ‘xeroxlore’ is an excerise in in-the-box recording and made heavy use of early 2000s 32-bit abandonware to produce it’s digital character. The record was recorded, produced, and mixed by myself and a collaborator.

Artwork was produced using a digital camera with a corrupted CCD sensor, CRT televsions, Mac OS 9 (to make use of zt-Mac, a bitmap typeface), Blender, printers, and scanners. The process went something like this:

Corrupted CCD images -> 
displayed and photographed on CRT television -> 
images mapped in 3D using Blender -> 
printed/scanned -> 
type added in Mac OS 9/Photoshop 5.0 -> 
printed/scanned.

Due to it’s short runtime, a miniCD was chosen as the medium for physical release. miniCDs were burned and labeled using disct@2.

Product images displayed above were created using an Epson v550 flatbed scanner.
